Build for Peace

Build for Peace is our most effective fundraiser and we need and appreciate your support in this event!  We look forward to two work-a-thon events every fall. (Work times will be announced in the fall but volunteers plan to work from morning until early afternoon on your elected workday.)

Build for Peace is an excellent opportunity for you to get out into the Denver community, contribute to a meaningful project and help DJPC in the process. It is also a great way to meet other DJPC members and volunteers! For those of you who are not familiar with B4P, please see the purple box to the right to learn how it works.

LUNCH IS PROVIDED AND PRIZES AWARDED FOR THE TOP FUNDRAISERS FOR EACH WORK DAY!

We hope you can join us for this meaningful, fun and exciting fundraising event! Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any further questions.

If you cannot participate in either workday, please consider sponsoring and soliciting others to sponsor a Build for Peace participant through contributions to: DJPC, 901 W. 14 th Avenue, Suite 7, Denver, CO 80204.  (Make tax-deductable checks out to "DJPC Education Fund" Please write Build for Peace in the memo line.)

WE HAVE WORKED WITH:

Family Tree (Sept 16th) provides shelter and services to families and youth of metro Denver so they may overcome domestic violence, homelessness, child abuse and other family crises.  Since 1976, Family Tree has provided a broad range of services to help families and youth of metro Denver to overcome such obstacles.  Family Tree's mission is to help people be safe, strong, and self-reliant.

Family Homestead (Oct 21st) has provided emergency and transitional housing, and supportive case management exclusively to homeless families with children in Denver for the past 26 years. Family Homestead houses clients in individual housing, preserving the integrity of family life; develops individual case plans with each family to support them in their journey towards a sustainable life; works actively with each parent to secure permanent housing, develop and maintain income, and increase their effectiveness as heads of household.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED AND DONATED AT LAST YEAR'S BUILD FOR PEACE EVENT! WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN!

1)  Volunteers (like you!) commit to a day's work on a project. You can choose which of the two designated days works best in your schedule and sign up by calling the DJPC office at (303) 623-1463 or e-mailing us at: djpc@denjustpeace.org.

Please provide us with your name, phone number, e-mail address and mailing address.

When you sign up, DJPC will send you a packet with helpful instructions to help you solicit donors, including sample letters, a sponsor sheet and information about DJPC and our programs.

2)  Collect pledges from friends and family to contribute to your work-a-thon contribution. This event is a fundraiser and can be a successful one with a little bit of work before the work day!

3)  Show up on your scheduled workday ready to help, have fun and meet new people. We can't wait to see you there!
